Windows Security Updates

[Confused]

I am trying to install some Windows Security Updates( I've
ignored doing this for too long ! )

I go to the Windows Updates web page, my system is
scanned, I am presented with the list of available
updates, I select 3 small updates to start with ( seeing
as I don't have broadband and my free time is limited ).
However when I select the "Install now" button - nothing
happens .... Any ideas ?

The updates are often several megabytes .. I guess that you just did not
wait long enough. try again ...
