Windows Secuirty update probelm

Windows Security automatic update just downlaoded on to my computer. When
rebooted the following warning message appeared,
"The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will
not run properly. The relocation occured because the DLL
C>\Windows\system32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for Windows
system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL."

This does not mean anything to me other than one of my programmes will now
not work properly. What is a DLL? Is it important? How do I find out which
programme is affected? If I do not know this last piece of information how
can I go back to the vendor to get a new DLL. Should I be worried unduly.

Pity there is no extra information for those like me who find these computer
file descriptions double dutch.

You might want to download and run the hotfix available from
Microsoft.

The Realtek HD Audio Control Panel may not start, and you
receive an error message when you start the computer: "Illegal
System DLL Relocation"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935448/

Good luck

Nepatsfan, I just installed the KB 'fix' and Rebooted. Problem SOLVED
thanks to your thoughtfulness. Well, MS too but didn't they caused the
problem in the first place! I wonder why they didn't pull that Update vs
continuing to send it around the World for Novices like me to contend with.

I didn't think of checking the KB - I was in such a hurry to get my problem
posted in case my computer crashed.

You sure came through for all of us this morning! Thanks so much!
