I have the type of problem where one minute everything was ok and then for
no
reason something went wrong. I've had no luck in tracking down the problem
with
msconfig, regedit or a number of other programs. I hope you understand what
I'm
trying to explain. A picture of the screen would show you clearly but I
can't
send it through this mail. I sample picture is on my web:
http://aclassictouch.biz/ScreenProblem.htm.
What I see on my screen is as follows:
The color and background picture is the full screen but all active icons I
have
set up have shifted down 1 inch and the top 1 inch is inactive, even though
the
background is still in it. The screen is correct during boot but just
before it
completes everything is shifted down 1 inch. This indicates Windows has made
a
change but I can't track down the change. To make it worse, the Office
buttons
on the upper right corner, within this 1 inch dead area, is still active.
Plus,
pop-ups can still use this top 1 inch.
It's almost like I have been infected with something that was blocked by
PestPatrol or Spybot but they didn't fix the window size.
Then to make it more complicated, IE (or anything like word, explorer, etc.)
all
cannot use this top 1 inch even when they have been 'maximized'. But then if
I
use the 'full screen' button it fills the whole screen and monitor. In
other
words, the 'maximize' and 'full screen' are 2 different things. This also
shows
there is nothing wrong with the monitor itself.
Then the final straw is occasionally it shifts everything up and the 1 inch
is
dead on the bottom of the screen.
I would appreciate any suggestions in tracking down this problem.

P.S.; If I log in to another user name on this computer the screen is
correct.
There must be a specific parameter that re-defined the screen for this one
user.
That's what I can't find.
