windows picture viewer

Recently I can no longer view pictures through the built
in windows picture viewer. ie. no slideshows, no
thumbnails ... I can't even open the picture viewer.
Anyone else experienced this?

Tell us what you are doing.
How are you trying to open the picture viewer.
When you try to open the picture viewer, what do you get?
Right now, we know it does not work but it is difficult for us to help if we
don't know how you are trying to make it work.
With a little more help from you, somebody will help.

Nothing happens when i click on a picture. If I right
click and say preview, nothing happens. If I right click
and say open with Windows picture and fax viewer, nothing
happens. If i click slide show on the picture task bar,
nothing happens.

It seems as if the program is gone, but there isn't any
message telling me and the computer thinks its done.

Thats about as good as I can describe it.
