Windows Picture Viewer - Scrolling Control Missing After Service P

Greetings!

I hope one of you can help me.

I am running XP and have always been able to scroll through my pictures
using the little arrows and other controls at the bottom of the screen in
Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. By double clicking on a photo icon, thumnail
or detail my system would always open the photo in another window that would
have the controls at the bottom and the file name at the top, along with the
words "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer."

I just installed the Microsoft Service Pack 2 through my automatic updater
and now the photos open in a window that does not have the controls at the
bottom (scrolling arrows, zoom in and out, rotate, delete, print, save, etc.)
I can still scroll using the "Filmstrip" option but the photos appear
smaller with this view, and it lacks the other controls. When I double click
a photo icon now it opens a window that lacks any controls, much like opening
a .jpeg with the older versions of Windows (95, 98, etc.)

Any ideas what happened here? This is really bugging me this morning.

Thanks!

I figured it out. If this happens to you...

1) Go to "view" and choose "thumbnails"

2) Right click on a thumbnail in the folder

3) Choose "open with..."

4) Select "choose program"

5) Select "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer"

6) Check the box next to "always use this program to open this type of file"

Hope this helps!
