Updating your graphics driver may help, go to the manufacturer's web site and look
for a newer driver. Do a disk clean-up too, your temp cache maybe full. Double-click
"my computer" right-click your hard drive, properties, disk clean-up. In Windows
Explorer, folder options, view, tick "do not cache thumbnails", this may help.

Do you happen to have Adobe PhotoShop or
Elements installed?

If you do...right click on a .jpg file and choose
Properties. Click the Photoshop Image tab
and uncheck the "Generate Thumbnails" button,
then click OK.

Oh well, I knew it was a stretch but thought
it couldn't hurt to ask.

Try this:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

Also...I wonder if it would help to run Disk
Cleanup and delete all of your temp and
temporary internet files.
