Windows Picture & Fax Viewer

When I open an email photo attachment in Windows Picture & Fax Viewer and
scroll thru the photos, gif/jpeg pictures from viewed web pages are also
showing up. These appear to be copies of a file as the file name is followed
by [1]. These files are just parts of web pages such as a company logo. Where
are these files coming from and how can they be stopped from migrating to
other places.

You should open pictures in “Windows pictures and fax viewer†that you have
saved on you hard drive. You see that pictures from sites you have visited
because windows automatically saves this pictures, so that can open faster
the next time you visit the sites in a temporally directory, but when you
open un attached picture from un E-mail message windows also stores this
pictures in the same temp. directory where the pictures from sites are saved.
I can think of two decisions:
1. Regally delete you temp. files by using such software. Very simple for
use is the “Ashampoo WinOptimizerâ€. Or:
2. Always save your pictures in usual directories (which you know). Before
looking them.

When you preview a image attachment from a mail client (Ex.. OE) directly,
the image is extracted to the Temporary Internet Files (TIF) folder, and
WPFV's current directory becomes the TIF folder. Save the attachment to the
hard drive and then view it. Or, clearing the TIF should help.
