Windows Movie Maker problems

Hi

Running Win XP Media Centre Edition v2002 SP2 on Dell Dimension E521

Movie maker worked well for a while but now although I can import or read a
file as soon as I try to perform any edit functions the application closes -
there is no error message or warning.

Xp was pre-installed on the Dell when I got it but I do not have original
installation discs - just Dell Blue resource CD and Red Re-installation
DVD - can anyone advise if this will allow me to re-install /Repair movie
maker or any advise on trying to identify and resolve problem.

Some pressure here as I have a video of my daughters wedding that needs
editing and burning to DVD !

Some users have reported problems
after installing IE7. If this applies to your
situation ...uninstalling IE7 may be worth
a try.

I've also seen a report that disabling the
ffdshow codec could be the fix. To accomplish
this...open Movie Maker and go to...Tools /
Options / Compatibility tab...Uncheck...
ffdshow / OK.
