Windows Movie Maker Crashing

Hi,
Im having a Problem with Movie Maker it seems whenever I do the slighest
little thing Eg: Click on a title to edit it
It crashes.
I am running a perfect Windows XP machine if that helps

None of that works the codecs are fine and by hardware acceleration I have no
clue what you mean by Desktop -> Properties :/ and no idea how to lower it
