Windows Movie Maker 2 Sound Issue

Whenever I import a video file into the storyboard or
timeline, the sound becomes distorted. When i play the
clip on its own in windows media player, the sound is
fine. Any help, i really need this program working.

I am using a Canon PowerShot A70 digital Camera
Dell Inspiron 8200 Notebook
1.7ghZ Mobile P4
384mb of RAM
32mb NVIDIA GeForce 2GO

Sorry, No solution, but I've also got exactly the same
problem. My camera is an A70 file as well and whenevever
an avi file created by the camera is placed on the story
board and played back it screeches. It plays fine when
not on the story board and previewd only. I think the
camera side of things is OK as my freind also has the A70
and the AVI files off that play fine on his PC ????
Confuses the hell out of me.To compound the issue Movie
maker 2 plays other AVI files OK. Perhaps Canon may have
suggestions?
