Windows messenger unwanted user id

I have Windows XP with windows mesenger 4.7. ach time I
start up messenger it defaults to try an sign in as an id
that is not mine and I want to remove it. Can anyone
advise how I can do this?

Hi Paul
You could sign out of messenger, then select to login with a different
account, check the sign me in automatically box. To remove the other account
from the login drop box you can go to start > run and type control
userpasswords2
Click the advanced tab and then the manage passwords button. Remove the name
of the account which is signing in or passport.net\* if its the only
passport account that has been use, and has been associated with your
windows user account.

Im not sure with 4.7, but i am sure with version 6 if you go into the
control panel and into user accounts, select your user, in the left hand
pane unser related tasks there is an option to "manage my network passwords"
from there you can erase the passport that you dont want to automatically
sign in.
