Windows Messenger & MSN W conflict?

Alan

I recently purchased a new PC with W XP Pro installed and SP2.
I did not download MSN Messenger as I assumed it was the same as W M.
However, recently when trying to view a webcam through anothers MSN
Messenger, I only got a blank screen.
I downloaded the latest MSN Messenger but it would not install - it gave me
an error message HRESULT; 0x80070002. Error Code 1603.
MSN Help produced what was intended to be a way though this, but it did not
work. Largely, I suspect because instead of the expected ===

6. Rename the folder

"
I found that my x86 files were 5.2.2.2

Has anyone got a way of sorting this please?

Greetings Alan,

Do you happen to have Ad-aware's Ad-Watch feature engaged? If so, turn it off (temporarily),
run the installer again and when it's complete you can turn it back on again.

Thank you Johnathan!
Worked like a charm. It also turns out that the same Ad-Watch needs to be
de-activated for McAfee On-line VirusScan updates! I have VS Build 9.0.10
atop XP Pro with SP2 installed. My lucky day, I thought those were different
problems!
Regards
Matti
