Windows Messenger 5 - Busy status

R

Robert Winger

I installed Windows Messenger 5 and noticed that it keeps setting the status
to Busy. I am not doing this and I am actively using the computer. Any
idea why it is doing this?

Greetings Robert,

One of the new features in Windows Messenger 5 (and MSN Messenger 6) is when you're in a
full-screen application, it automatically sets your status to busy. Obviously you're either
working in a full-screen application, or the code that "checks" this isn't working properly
with whatever apps you use. To turn it off, simply open the main Messenger window, click the
Tools menu, then Options, click the Preferences tab, uncheck 'Block alerts and set status to
'Busy' when running full-screen programs" and click OK.
