My question was, why can I not download any music from the MSN shop,
having
paid good money to do so.

Tried the link, but made me even more confused.
This tells me from Nov 2006, I can not download from MSN music, but
have to
find something called Zune, and download that instead.
Apparently, when I click the buy button in MSN, I should get a link to
either Zune, or Rhapsody.
I get neither, and I still do not know how MSN accepted my money after
that
date, but will not allow me to use it.
I haver been wandering aimlessley through support centres, help pages
etc for
hours now, and all I can find is MS support who may help, if I pay a
further
£40 for an e-mail question.
No Way
About to give up.
Jeff said:Here's the problem. On my windows Media player, I have a section
called MSN Music. This allows you to pay in a sum of money in
advance, to cover cost of downloads as and when you want them.
I have paid in £20, and this is showing on my account. However,
whenever I click on the buy button to download a track, although the
button turns to a green tick, which I would take to mean a successful
download, nothing appears on my media player, and no money is taken
from my account.
If I try to download the same track again, I get a message saying
this track has already been downloaded.
There is no information on MSN Music about changes, but from trawling
through the help pages, and posts here and elsewhere, it seems that
from 14 Nov 2006, MSN music ceased to exist, and in order to obtain
music, you had to go to either Zune or Rhapsody.
From what I have read, when you click the buy button on MSN Music, you
should get a link to either of these sites, but I do not.
My problem is twofold.
First, what has happened to my £20 in MSN Music, which I cannot use,
and cannot get back.
Second, I have spent most of today either downloading, or removing
bits of software, or wandering round help pages, trying to do what
must surely be a simple and popular task, i.e. downloading music, and
seem to be no closer. My understanding is that either Zune or
Rhapsody will have to be downloaded as well, and I do not want to do
that until I know it will do what I want. Cannot waste any more time
going round in circles.
By the by, on the link you sent me, the question above gives details
of how to contact technical support. They have a phone number, and an
e-mail address, but both will cost £40 to submit a question. That is
where that amount came about.
