Windows Media player keeps creating My Music folder

I've moved the My Music folder out of My Documents and don't want it to come
back! Unfortunately the 'rip music to:' option in WMP keeps rebuilding the
directory. Obviously I've tried pointing this option to another directory,
but it just changes back to the d:/My Documents/My Music default (and
rebuilds the directory).

Can anyone tell me how to stop this plz?

Thanks,
Pete

You've answered your own question using the word "default". My Music
is a default file and thus will recreate it self if you move it or delete it.
Create a file called just Music, put you songs/files there and move it to
wherever you want it.

That wasn't the answer I was looking for, but thanks all the same.
I suppose I could make it hidden... out of sight, out of mind and all that...

Thanks again,
P

You can find yourself a programme such as Powertoys for Windows XP (Tweak UI)
and specify the location of special folders. Apart from this you'd be looking
at a registry tweak which I don't have on me at the moment. My Documents and
subfolders are special folders which are created by Windows XP and hence
Windows Media player will always try to default to one of these directories
