Windows Media File Type Not Supported. Can't Change Type

My WMM program file type (extension? .mswmm) is not compatible with any of
my CD/DVD burning programs (InterVideo, Pinacle Expression). ".mswmm file
type not supported.". I think I need to change/convert or something the file
type so I can burn CD/DVD to play movies. I have easily used InterVideo to
make prior movies on DVD+RW and never had this problem...but it did not have
as neat video effects as WMM. Would Windows Media File Editor be able to
convert the file type to a more common usable type? Help, I have spent three
days making 5 videos...that now are stuck in my computer! Any suggestions?
