Windows Media Configuration Manager - How to stop the nag?

P

Phisherman

Every time I use Windows Media Player, another nagging window
eventually appears:

Windows Media Configuration Manager
Windows Media Player Update is available.
Do you want to update now?
Yes No

I'm totally satisfied with Windows Media Player and how it works,
except for this nagging window that keeps popping up. I do not want
to update it (there is no reason to do so). Do I have to live with
this constant reminder whenever I use Windows Media Player??? Is
there a way to turn this off?

What about going to windows update, and do a custom scan. If an update for
media player appears, then click on the + sign next to it, to expand it,
then hide the update.

I got rid of mine asking. Dang if I can remember though. Maybe I did it
Rock's way.
