I have a very long list of contacts, so I grouped them to folders CLIENTS,
FRIENDS, etc. I can see these folders when I open the "Contacts" window, but
not when I create a new mail and press the "TO" button, so I have to go down
the whole list to find the address I am looking for. Is there a way to select
an addrees via the folders when I create a new message?

Windows Mail doesn't use folders for Contacts. See this tutorial:
