windows mail troubles

Hello, I am using Windows Vista with Office 2007 and am having difficulties
with my windows mail. I have great difficulty opening up attachments such as
powerpoint(.pps), almost every pdf file I get ( I use Adobe and cannot find a
fix from that site) and any zipped files I receive.
I have dumped my temp file folder, but this did not help. My colleague uses
XP and has no trouble opening up the same files.
Can anyone please assist?

You mean they won't open directly in WM?

I don't recall a problem with .zip files, but take a look at these....
