Windows Mail problems

1. Under options/general, I have "Send and receive messages at startup"
checked. But it only does this the first time I bring up Windows Mail after
bringing up windows. If I exit Windows Mail and bring it up later, it does
not check for new email.

2. Under options/advanced/maintenance, I have "Delete news messages 15 days
after being downloaded" but after a month, it doesn't appear to have deleted
any newsgroups messages.

Any one else have these problems and perhaps a fix?. Outlook Express had
neither of these problems.

2. Is the message body gone after 15 days?
That setting in Outlook Express only removed the message body.

The message body are still there also. For me, when I had OE, the old
headers were gone also.
