Windows Mail & Newsgroups

2 computers, one running XP & Outlook Express shows any newsgroup posts or
replies I make. The other, running Vista Home Premium and Windows Mail,
won't display any of my posts or replies to threads but, others can see and
reply to them and I can see my postings contained in their replies. Any
ideas?

Check out that you gfrankland@nosuchaddress are not in your own blocked
sender list?

Thanks, just had a look, I'm not blocked and just to make sure, I've added
myself to the "safe senders" list. It makes no difference. Crazy thing is,
I'm running the 2 computers side by side now, one shows all my NG posts, the
other doesn't!

If you post using OE can you view them in WM and or OE?
If you post using WM can you view them in OE and or WM?

The only reason that I can think is the blocked sender one.

Please check your sending address in the news server account on WM, is it
exactly the same as you searched for in the List?

BTW, if you have OE and WM set up for news, why are you posting via the web
interface?

Hi Steve, thanks for the ideas. To answer your questions - if I post in WM,
I can see my posts in OE but not WM. If I post in OE, I can see my posts in
OE but not WM. I've checked my news and email properties on both computers
and they're identical. If I Google the NG and enter it that way, I can see
all my posts on both computers. I'm posting on this forum via web interface
because I found/entered it via "help" menu.

I suspect the problem may be some peculiarity with Vista & WM, both of which
are new to me. Maybe a setting somewhere I haven't yet found. I'll try it
out on mate's computer this coming week and see if the same thing happens.

Thanks for the help, Graham.

Are you posting to the same server in both cases?
I note that you are using a Web browser to post here.

Go to Tools, Options, Read, under News make sure the "Get 300..."
option is unchecked. That default option can cause strange results.

Found the problem - Mac was correct. I kept getting spam from various
addresses at the same domain so I blocked the domain. Turned out to be the
same IP as I'm with so, although I could send posts, I was blocked from
seeing them.
Thanks for the help, Graham.
