Windows Installer Sevice could not be accessed

I was trying to load the new Intellipoint drivers when I
got the following message "The Windows Installer Service
could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running
Windows in safe mode, or the Windows Installer is not
correctly installed." So I had a look at the service
properties and found that its path to the executable
was;
C:\DOCUME~1\Kevin\LOCALS~1\Temp\IXP000.TMP\MsiExec.exe /V
instead of;
C:\WINDOWS\system32\MsiExec.exe /V (what it is supposed
to be). So my question is... how do I change the path in
the properties of this service?

Did you get this error message?

"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. You may be running in
Safe mode or Windows Installer may not be correctly installed. "

If you did then follow the instructions on this website and your
installation files should work again.
