I keep getting Win Inst. coming up and telling me a path
can not be found and it's looking for a SGuard.msi file in
a folder from which i can install the product pioneer
RecordNow Dx Update Manager--No matter if I un-install the
program and re-install doesn't help. Also I tried to
disable windows installer in the index services and didn't
help... Any help would be a big help thank you...

I had the same problem as the last hurdle in cloning a failing 40 GB
Maxtor to a new 80 GB Hitachi Deskstar. Not sure if there is any
connection, though. Several google groups hits on the topic did not
find a solution, so I tried this, and it worked:

Standard warning: incorrect use of Regedit can cause your computer not
to boot. Although personally I've found Regedit to be a godsend; it
has never messed up anything for me, and many times has backed me out
of a dead end.

-- Start -- Run -- Regedit
F3 (search) sguard
It found sguard.msi under a numbered key in Windows Installer. I
exported (Alt-R E) the numbered key (just in case I might need it) and
then deleted the numbered key.

Back to the looping Windows Installer box, click OK, and it stops
looping. Gone, I hope.
