Windows install

Hi,
I had an error log that said system32 was missing. I
was told to re install windows, which i did. I had to put
in a user name and password. The pc signed on to desktop
but all the settings are normal and no programs are on
here. All the settings and programs are still on the hard
drive but i need to get back to our original user name and
password to access it, any suggestions on how i can get
back onto that administrator??

Thanks

You have probably installed a second copy of win2k, You should have done a
repair install.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;238359
If you explore My computer you will see two win2k folders, one being the
origonal the second being the new.
You will need to identify the new install and delete the folder, then edit
the boot.ini file, it may be a hidden file, to remove the line refering to
the new install/folder.
Then perform the repair of yr origonal installation as per kb articles.
You *should* backup any data files prior to doing this.
