After installing Windows XP2 I apparently cannot have windows firewall
enabled. I no longer have the option of turning the firewall on or off. When
I go to the 'advanced' tab under network connections, it shows the section
called 'Windows Firewall' and under it 'protect my computer and network by
limiting' .......so and so forth and to the right is a settings button. When
I press the settings button I get a message that says 'windows firewall
settings cannot be displayed because the associated service is not running,
do you want to start the WF/ICS; I click yes, it attempts to start the
firewall/ics and then says it cannot be started with no explanation or error
message. I have attempted to add ICS under 'add windows components' in
control panel but was not successful.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
