Windows file protection error

Windows tells me "files that are required for windows to
run properly have been replaced. To maintain stability
please insert you windows cd" When I do this it wants me
to install windows again. then I have to opperating
systems. The same message comes up again on both.

Help!! Please and thankyou

what you need to do is restart your system, put the windows cd in and when
it opens up the installation program, close it.

then go to start>run and type the following: sfc /scannow.

sfc= system file checker. windows file protection automatically replaces
important system files from a cache folder if they get damaged or deleted,
however they are not all in the cache. and this is when it prompts you to
put in the cd. it copies them from the cd automatically.


it's a good idea to run sfc /scannow periodically for your own benefit.
