Windows Explorer

When I use view icon on jpg and avi or mpg files, normally it shows a photo
of that file contents in Windows Explorer. I did not know what I had done
to cause that now I just see the static icon without the photo. Can someone
advise me how to restore to previous state.

Change the view menu to show thumbnail etc

I have tried all setting in View pull-down menu without success.
