Windows Explorer Search - delete previous search drop down information from file name and word or ph

Hi,

I'll be grateful if anyone can help. I am cleaning up my old laptop for sale
and want to delete all records from the Windows Explorer 'file and
word/phrase' search drop down options that pull in previous search
information. Can anyone direct me to the file or tell me how to clean up and
delete this information? The operating system is Windows 2000. I see XP Pro
has the same problem - having used the file search option, one can't get rid
of the old search information.

If you're able to help - thanks a lot!

Alan.

Why not just reinstall Windows from scratch? That way you can be sure that
anything else lurking around (I mean other than the previous file search
parameters) is (effectively) gone?
