Heres currently what my Windows Explorer looks like:

(My files blackened for obvious reasons)

I dunno what happened, but the list of folders to the left is gone, I
cant seem to fix it, anyone know how?
And yes I have checked Tools-Folder Options but nothing there seems to
bring it back up, also other windows stuff doesnt seem to work right
anymore, look at what my windows update looks like:

In REGEDIT, try deleting the keys

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local
Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local
Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags]

then relog on, reopen your folder and see if it's reset.

I would try REGEDIT again, and delete

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Modules]

Does that fix it?

F

franzks32

Nope, the "Modules" Key is gone now after I reloged, but the problem is
still there, I even tried running regedit, ending explorer.exe process
and then deleting all the Bags, BagMRU, and the Modules keys, then
reseting, then when I log back on the problem is still there, I cant
use system restore because the latest date I had, the problem was still
there, I googled the hell out of this but I found out nothing, Im the
only one using this computer and I havent installed any new software or
hardware recently so that might have not caused this, also there are
also other user accounts on this comp that I dont use but when I logged
on to them they had this problem too, this is ****in ****in me off...

One more thing to try and then I give up.

Go to Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Folder Options

Select the GENERAL tab and click RESTORE DEFAULTS
Then select the VIEW tab and click RESTORE DEFAULTS and RESET FOLDERS

Is it working now?
