Windows explorer not responding

Hi
Running XP SP2. When clicking on a folder to move open drag etc explorer
hangs a lot of the time (not responding) and getting worse. Have to ctrl alt
del and go to task manager to shut it down and get going again. What do I
have to do to get it functioning again okay. This is the only problem.
Cheers

Either insufficient RAM or your system is bogged down with too
many applications running. You can also do a system cleanup.
Start>Run> type MSCONFIG and click OK>Startup tab
check all the apps listed that are checked, maybe all of them.
Uncheck/disable some you do not need to run right now>Apply>Close
Reboot.

Hi byte
I have 1Gb of ram and most of the time it is the only app i am using. Got a
windows upgrade last week which fixed the slow respnse time to making a new
folder but still freezing on me.
Cheers
