I've noticed a problem on my desktop where the Windows Explorer takes
an unusually long time to list the directory when I try to browse to a
NAS box, or a mapped network drive. I mean up to a minute or two. If I
try to cancel the process by closing the window, I get the *Program Not
Responding* message box.
I tried doing the same thing from another XP Pro machine without any
problems. The mapped drives and the NAS pop up in seconds. BTW, this is
in a small 4 computer Workgroup with nothing special as far as a setup.
I disabled all running apps, scanned for viruses and exploits -
nothing. I'm puzzled. Anyone knows what direction I need to look to?
