Windows Explorer Icon View

When I view a folder that has Icon files (extension .ico)
in them using the Windows Explorer View Menu and then the
Icon view all I see is a generic icon instead of the of
real icon. In Windows Explorer View and then the Thumbnail
view I can see the picture of the icon. How do I fix this
so I can see the real icons using the Windows Explorer
