Windows explorer Help

Whenever I get into windows explorer, I get an almost
constant hourglass. It's as if it is refreshing itself
constantly. It is kind of annoying and really slows down
my ability to look for whatever I'm looking for when I'm
in there. Can you help out? JJ (XP Pro sp1)
