Windows Explorer has erased the settings for my music folders

I use a music download subscription service that stores the music in
folders on my hard drive. All of the folders were correctly set up
for organizing music files, and if I opened a folder containing music
files I could simply click on the button on the left hand pane called
play all and it would play all files in the folder through the Windows
media player. However, for some unknown reason all the correct
settings have been lost, and now my music folders are set to organize
its contents as documents and not music files, which means the play
all button is gone. To get the button back I have to go to properties
and reset to view as a music folder. In addition the details for the
folder have reverted back to default which means any of the details
such as track number or artist name have disappeared. For those
folders I have to go to choose details and select track number for
that attribute to appear again. I have many music folders and it
would be a very painstaking process to go to every single folder and
change the properties and details to the way I want them. I tried to
select all of the folders and apply the settings once, but it does not
change anything. Is there an easier way to change the settings or
attributes of the folders so that applying the attributes to one
folder such as the parent folder would apply those same attributes the
subfolders?

Hello,

In Explorer, select the top folder in the music folders tree.
Right-click on this folder => Properties => Customize tab
Under "Use this folder as a template" select 'Music' from the drop-
down box.
Check the box 'Also apply this template to all subfolders'

That's exactly what I did, and that is my main problem since it does
not make any change on the subfolders.
