Windows Explorer errors

Hi,

I'm using Windows 2000 Professional at home. I double click on my
computer and open the explorer window.

However, when I try to retrieve the window from the task bar, the
system returns that explorer.exe isn't responidng. So I kill/end the
task and then the system just hangs with a blue screen and does
nothing until I bring it back opening task manager, and starting
explorer from the new tasks to get back to the desktop.

Any help would be appreciated.

This is what we professionals call "messed up" (edited for the newsgroups).
Do yourself a favor, backup all your important and unrecoverable stuff and
reinstall the OS on top of itself. DO NOT let it format the drive. You can
try a repair first and, if that doesn't work, then do a full install over
top.

You should see no loss... but then you do have a backup... right? RIGHT?
