Windows Explorer Default view

Brad Nelson

Please tell me the registry edit to FORCE windows explorer to ALWAYS
present all viewable items as "LIST VIEW" as the DEFAULT. The ONLY
exception(s) would be if the user chose to change it temporarily.

No matter how many times I set the
View -> List setting
Then Tools -> Folder Options -> General Tab -> "Use Windows
Classic Folders"
Then Tools -> Folder Options -> View Tab -> Like Current Folder

Explorer always changes!!!

Sometimes it presents items as List view.
Sometimes as thumbnails

Mostly it changes back to the icon view.

There MUST be a registry edit to set the "windows default" to LIST
VIEW

I also want this to apply to all new folders also.

Please send an email if you know the answers or need further
clarification.

Thank you
Brad

Brad,

Try increasing the folder views cache:

If that does not help, reset the folder settings using this comprehensive
method:

To his original question, which registry keys control the default view
function? I am trying to change this programmatically so if anyone knows
the keys that would be great.
