Hi to all !

I'm having this problem since my java program crashed.
Now everytime I want to get to my control panel, my
explorer system crashes and I can't access it anymore.
Anybody has this problem or know the way to correct this
without reformatting and reinstalling ?

Thanks
Chris

There may be some third-party component that is loading up and causing
problems.
To disable these:
- Open Internet Explorer
- Clear the checkbox for "Enable third-party browser extensions
(requires restart) found in Tools > Internet Options > Advanced

If this works, then you can proceed to delete the one(s) causing the problem
To delete them:
- Run Regedit
- Entries for browser extensions will be found in the below key.
Export and delete the suspect ones.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Extensions

Hi !

Thanks for the tip, but disabling the 3rd parties didn't
help much. Getting into my control panel still results in
a crash of explorer.

At exactly what point does explorer crash?

Also, check the following:
Run SFC /SCANNOW from comand prompt
Check out article Q834010

When I go into Start/parameters/control panel/ when the
icons starts to appear I get an error message :, Explorer
crashes, disappears (the bar at the bottom too) and
reappears. OF course, everything under the explorer is not
running anymore (windows explorer, internet explorer...).

The error message I get is that Explorer.exe generated
errors and willbe closed by Windows...

If this can help, the control panel crashes when the
date/time icons appear...And i'm using windows 2000 french.

Ok, I tried the SCF/SCANNOW command , it said some things
we're different from the original files, but after putting
them back the problem was still there...
