William R Something I did and can not or do not know how to fix in
Vista. I went to Accessories, System Tools, then Easy Transfer. I wanted to
put my files on my remote hard drive via the USB connection as a backup. The
transfer failed, now I have a 6.53GB file on my Desk Top called SAVE DATA. I
plan to get a program to help in the future. For now, can I delete this file
without losing this information on my hard drive or causing system problems.
My system is new and stronger then I need.....but I wanted to play Flight Sim
X without it stalling.
Thanks,

Windows Easy Transfer is not meant to be a backup program. Easy Transfer does
not remove the files from your computer. In Vista you have Backup and Restore
Center. Backup does not remove the files.

Sounds like you want to free up disk space. You can create appropriate
folders on your USB drive and move your data files (or some of them) there.
Since music and picture files tend to take up a lot of space, you could keep
those on the external drive.
