Windows Defender was unable to complete the update...

I have just installed Windows Defender on my PC and I tried to update the
definition files but I get the following message:

Windows Defender was unable to complete the update: 0x80244021.

It appears I am not the only one having this problem.

Note: I am running ISA2004 (back end) and a PIX (front end):

INET > PIX > DMZ > ISA > Internal Net

I found that the install for windows defender somehow corrupts the temp
folder in windows directory....I deleted the 'temp' entry in windows and then
recreated the 'temp' folder....update ran ok at this point.
