Windows Defender vs. other Anti-Spyware solutions ?

Are there any incompatibilities between win defender and other
A/S solutions known ?
May I install and run on my system the win defender together with some
other Anti-Spyware tool ?
My security configuration is as following:
NOD32, actual version
EWIDE anti-malware, actual version, free
kerio pfw 4.2.2 free

Does the Defender provide the real-time (on-the-fly) protection only ?
Is there any on-demand scanner present too ?

Defender does both real-time protection, on demand, and scheduled scanning.
