windows defender has encountered an erro

well i scaned my system and i had some spywear i click on the remove all and
then this erro came up: windows defender has encountered an erro 0x80501001.
one or
more actions could not be completed successfully

can you plz help me thnz

My understanding of this error is that it indicates that the threat is
inside an archive--a ZIP file, RAR archive or other file structure of that
type.

I'd take a look at the system event log and find the yellow-triangle entries
that show the detection. Perhaps post that information here, or consider
deleting manually.

I had a similar problem it was in a hidden restore folder, turned system
restore off and then back on for that drive(it was a storage drive) and no
more problems.

Help

I get this error message with windows defender too but i am totally illiterate when it comes to computers.
Can someone please post "instructions for dummies" on how to remove this message please...
