you can get it at the Microsoft Malware Protection Center:

Since there's apparently an update just about every day, aren't these
posts somewhat like announcing that the sun came up each day?

And what, aside from spreading sweetness and light, do you do in the real
world, Jack?

Burt, not really, unless you live very far north where the sun only rises a
couple of times a week :p

Microsoft does Not "push out" updates to Defender Everyday, it is usually
semi-weekly [twice a week], usually on Mondays and Thursdays. If your WD is
updating itself everyday something odd is going on.
The last pushed updates were on 10/15, 10/12, 10/08, 10/05, 10/02, 09/24...

The only "daily" updates are those that require a Manual download of the
Full WD FE-MPAS from the portal.

Some folks use the announcement to see if their systems are updating properly.
Depending on when their systems last checked for updates they should receive
the update within 24 hours.

Additionally, Some folks don't allow Windows to use Automatic Updates and
update through the GUI when they see that it has been released.

And, More important than the announcement of the "pushed update" is the link
to it which follows later, for those who don't want to use AU services at all.

Hope that answers your question,
All the best,

?:)

@1PW
So, as you see Pat Willner is correct
The announcement and the link have always related to the updates MS pushes
out, not the ones that can be gotten on one's own from the portal.

I do the same thing you do for a small non-profit.
I do find it rather astonishing that your volunteer work takes this
particular obnoxious form.
My lack of MVP status is entirely voluntary on my part.

Hello Bill:

Your post needs only one change. You /are/ an MVP in our minds. Your
posts/reputation earned this for you.

The record stands corrected.

Hello Tim:

Your point is well taken. For the increased protection of my systems,
that have Windows Defender, I download and force the update when I
remember, and always more frequently then the push.

I usually do this as my self inflicted paranoia forces the updates of
all my antimalware.

I do stand corrected sir.
