Windows CE .NET: Access DB ported to CE?

We have GPS devices (Trimble GEOXM, http://www.trimble.com/geoxm.html)
with Windows CE .NET, tweaked for GPS data collection. A rudimentary
search turns up nothing about a CE version of MS Access (there is
documentation on SQLServer CE). The bulk of our GIS data collection
efforts revolve around a MS Access interface, and it would be nice if
we could simply load an Access front end onto these CE devices. Can
any one point me in the right direction?

You can't do it. I use a database called HanDBase which does provide a
rudimentary (if your used to Access) front-end and a database engine which
syncs nicely with Access.
