WINDOWS cannot open "BigFix.Ink.disabled"

Alex

Since a few days at start-up I receive an error message saying

WINDOWS
Windows cannot open this file
File: BigFix.Ink.disabled

And when I click "Use the Web service to find the appropriate program",
up comes www.pctools.com and offers a check of the registry for free.

I did run the check and the program said it found 798 errors, which I feel
is ridiculous,.and then PCtools
offers to download the "latest version of Registry Mechanic" for sme money.
A "computer specialist" had installed Registry Mechanic on my computer about
a year ago, because he said it is necessary.
I removed both bigFix and Registry mechanic from the computer, using the
appropriate programm from the Control Panel. And
I later also deleted the file-folder of BigFix from my Program Files, which
had still been there after having removed the program.
But the error message message keeps coming up every time at start-up.

How can I get rid of this nuisance?

Regards,
Alex

Alex,

No registry cleaners are necessary. They may create more problems than they
solve. Regarding the error message when logging on, one of the startup
programs is causing this. These links can help you solve the problem by
disabling the unwanted entries from startup.

I seen these type of error when I used Spybot: Search and Destroy. This
utility has a method/feature where you can "disable" start-up application.
You need to re-active the one you turned off and uninstall them correctly.
