Windows cannot find the local user profile??

Hi group!

I made a perfectly running XPe image (SP1, automatic windows logon as
"administrator" etc.)
After serious testing from both myself and our customer, the customer
returned the CF holding the image ready for cloning.
I tested the image once again, ran FBReseal.exe, turned off the computer and
began duplicating the image.

Now, when starting these computers with the cloned image most of them, but
not all(??) says:
"Windows cannot find the local user profile and is logging you on with a
temporarily stored profile...."

This XPe is supposed to logon automatically and then connect to a host using
a dial-up connection and a standard 28.8 modem.
When our customer tested the image he did connect it to a network somehow
(possibly through a firewall) in order to test it from his office.

Could this be the problem and is there a workaround for this? Why does not
ALL images behave the same?
I have a copy of the non-resealed image I could fix, but I don´t know what
to fix since the problem didn't show on the "master" disk.
Since we are getting short of time (and already shipped a few systems) I
wouldn´t want to start all over again.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

I forgot one thing:

"Detail - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by
another process."

Any ideas?

Hi, Rob

I have experienced exactly same error for some months ago.
In my case, the error occured only when an IDE exetion card is installed
during FBA.
I guess there is some bugs on FBReseal.exe

KM,

The customers applications were installed and tested after FBA, but before
reseal. I´m not sure what the customer exactly has done, but it worked fine
here before the reseal.
H/W config: Wafer-5820 w/ 300 MHz Geode. 512MB CF from MicroMemory and a
passive ATA/CF adapter. Only one partition (C:) was seen both on "golden"
and the cloned images. Same brand and config of CF and all other hardware
has been used all the time.

What could make the account directory to be created again after cloning? Is
there a way of preventing this on the "golden" image and then duplicate it
again?
I guess there is something I could do with users/groups, accounts passwords
etc but I don´t know what that would be.

And what does this mean:
"Detail - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by
another process."
This shows up as it tries to logon to Windows.

TIA,

Rob

Group,
I just want to let you know that it works fine (for) now.

What I did was that I went back to my golden image (I kept a copy, thank
goodness!), resealed it at cloned it once again. I have no idea of what went
wrong the first time, maybe fbreseal.exe has got some bugs as David Gu
mentioned. Maybe I forgot to close all running applications the first time I
ran fbreseal if that would matter. I don´t know. All I know is that I have a
number of good working systems now.

Thank you all for your time!

BR,

Rob

KM

Rob,

I am glad you got it working.

PS. Let us know if you decide to spend more time on the problem and figure out what was the real cause. Fbreseal topics are always
interesting to the Community because it is now used on many images for different customers, I think.
