Windows and MSN Messengers cannot est webcam conversation

J

Jim

When I attempt to establish a webcam conversation from MSN
Messenger 6 to Windows Messenger 5, I receive this error
(text in brackets added by me):
"The webcam conversation has ended. [The Windows
Messenger 5] can no longer see you.

Your invitation to start a webcam conversation could not
be sent because [Windows Messenger 5] is using a version
of Messenger that does not support this feature."

I thought both Messengers supported webcam conversations.
Any ideas?
Thank you.

Greetings Jim,

The 'Webcam' feature in MSN Messenger 6 is not compatible with Windows Messenger. The user
using MSN Messenger 6 needs to click the Actions menu, then 'Start Video Conference' in order
to use the video support that's compatible with Windows Messenger. Please note that this
'Start Video Conference' option will only be available if the user is using Windows XP.
Otherwise, the Windows Messenger user will need to install and use MSN Messenger 6 instead to
see the other person.
