Hello I have two partitions. one is formated in NTFS on
this one I have installed win XP. And another one formated
in FAT32. On the las one I want to install windows 98. But
when I do so I can not choose the d:\ Partition to install
windows 98 to. The win 98 installer then moves the xp to
the d:. And after that of course nothing ist working. How
can I install win 98 on a PC whit win XP?

Hola,
Debes instalar primero el sistema operativo mas antiguo, y
luego el programa de instalacion de XP lo detecta y te
genera el correspondiente menu dual...

Best bet in the future is to have each OS you want to use on different
physical hard drives.

You will need third party boot manager software.
Click on or copy and paste the link below into your web browser address box.
Boot manager Links
BootIT NG from Terabyte
http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/
BootMagic that ships with PartitionMagic
http://www.powerquest.com/

The only practicable way once you have the partitioning you do is to get
a third party boot manager - eg BootIT NG, from http://www.BootitNG.com
($35 shareware - 30 day full functional trial)
which is what I use, and set up two 'Boot menu instances', one booting
the 98 partition to 98; the other the XP partition direct. that ways
each will see itself as in C: (drive letters are not absolute things)
and XP will see the 98 one as probably D: - the 98 will not see the XP
NTFS one at all
..
Otherwise you have to have the initial boot set up in the FAT 32
partition - so it can boot on to the Win98 there - and that changes the
drive letter given to the XP one, with dire consequences.
