Hello Everyone

Upgrading the DNS to replicate to the forest, domain or all AD domains,
which is preferred or do I need to take something into consideration when
making my choice? Could someone hold my hand and walk me through this
decision?

Thank you

What do you have for bandwidth? What do you have for a topology? What do
you have for dc's out there?

You need to provide a whole lot more info than what you have so far.

Paul,

My topology is currently, one domain in a single forest. I have one
site which is connected via T1. I have a total of two DC's at that site and
at the main site, another three DC's. Eventually, I would like to branch of
another domain within my forest. Essentially, making my site have it's own
domain.

Thank you

If you have more than 50 users at the remote site you should have at least
one of the DC's be a GC so in the end most of the replication is going to be
on between the two sites. I'm guessing you don't have a separate DNS
partition so you should at least be going domain wide. Personally with your
future child coming online and if all users will be wanting access to all
the host names I would select forest.

Paul,

Both DC's at the remote site are GC. When you say, child, do you mean
when I bring up another domain to replace the site I currently have? If so,
then that makes sense, going with the forest and I understand that. Thank
you for your help.

Thank you
