Windows 2003 Installation forces you to put SP1

Sorry if this group is not the right one, but I didnt see a
"microsoft.public.win2003.*" anywhere.

Here is the question. One of our customers is forcing us to test our
product on SP1 of Windows 2003. They beleieve that they do not have an
option of installing Windows 2003 _without_ SP1. Apparently, it comes
with the CD that they have.

Testing our product with SP1 is good, but not slated for another month
or so. Cant they get a CD from MS without SP1? Its odd that a release
as significant as SP1 is forced upon people when there are a lot of
security related fixes that would break an otherwise working product.
Agreed that those need to be fixed, but thats how life is.

Thanks. Please respond to this post or email me at

Thanks

CD which your customer has bought is win2k3 SP1 slip streamed, therefore it
is not possible to uninstall SP1, that is by design.
