Windows 2000 registry

I got a virus on my home computer, it infected a file
called ntusers.sys, mcafee detected it in dos mode,
called HE4hook.sys trojan., the problem is i need to get
to the registry to delete something out of it.,

it won't let me get past the login screen then the system
just reboots. how do i edit the registry in dos?

Install the disk as a slave disk in some other Win2000
PC, then use regedt32.exe to edit your registry file.

How do you open a registry on another hard drive with regedt32.exe? I
thought you could only open the registry on the local OS or a network PC?
